In a working class suburb north of Paris, the springtime victory of the Popular Front in 1936 spawned hopes and dreams along with the rise of extremism.A trio of unemployed stage workers decide to occupy the local music hall, where they had worked until recently, intent on staging a “hit” variety show. The site becomes the setting of a beautiful, but short-lived venture.
